The home is the first ‘school’ and Couva Anglican Primary School is the place where our pupils meet as a family to learn and socialize. In order for this to be achieved, all pupils are to be regular and punctual at all times to ensure that maximum teaching and learning and socialization occurs.
School sessions are broken into three:
morning
mid-morning and
afternoon sessions.
The first session begins at 8.30 a.m. with Assembly followed by Roll Call and teaching.
An intermission period of ten minutes (Juniors and Seniors) and fifteen minutes (Infants 1 and 2).
Luncheon period runs from 11:30 to 12.25, after which pupils again meet for a short session of prayer.
The afternoon session runs from 12:30 to 2:30 (Infants 1 and 2) and 2:45 (Juniors and Seniors)
Pupils should be focused during teaching and learning sessions, so that vital points are not missed as teaching and learning takes a logical sequential path.
High absenteeism can create loss of learning and if the pupil is absent for an entire term, he or she will be taken off the school’s roll. (MORE INFORMATION IS NEEDED)
Parents are expected to provide a written excuse in the Parent/Teacher Communication (PTC) book outlining details of a child's absenteeism.
